The ED will design and implement all educational programming including school residencies, student matinee series, after school activities, master classes for teaching artists, group sales support, and other associated educational programming. Each Spring and Fall, Lantern Theater Company and program partner After-School Activities Partnerships (ASAP) offer teacher-training and placement for local theater artists interested in building a teaching resume. The program begins with a master class led by some of Philadelphia's best theater educators, preparing participants for the challenges of teaching theater in classrooms. In exchange for this valuable training, participants are asked for a six-week volunteer commitment, leading a weekly after-school drama club at a site in Philadelphia. Placed at a site by ASAP and mentored by the Lantern's education staff, this program offers both training and classroom experience in a fun, nurturing environment.
