Support the Lantern
We invite you to play an important role at the Lantern by making a tax-deductible gift.
As you may know, ticket sales provide only partial support of the work you see on the Lantern's stage. We keep our ticket prices low to ensure that great theater is available to everyone, and even with sold-out performances, ticket sales cover only 40 percent of a show's cost. This leaves a gap that must be covered by donations from foundations and corporations – and from theater lovers like you. Your gift directly supports the high-quality, intimate theater that you've come to love at the Lantern, as well as Illumination, our Barrymore Award-winning education program that engages local high school students in the world of theater, nurturing their curiosity and artistic expression. We are proud to announce that the National Endowment for the Arts has awarded us a prestigious Shakespeare in American Communities grant of $25,000 for the third consecutive year in support of Henry IV, Part I. This highly competitive grant brings Lantern teaching artists into Philadelphia's classrooms and fully funds theater visits for more than 700 local high school students who otherwise have little or no access to the arts. The NEA requires us to raise matching gifts in order to release their federal dollars, so your gift will help achieve this match while enhancing and transforming the lives of Philadelphia's school children. The Independence Foundation has also committed to matching every new and increased gift, so your contribution will have more impact than ever before! We are so grateful for your support. Your gift makes a big difference here at the Lantern, touching lives during these turbulent times. Gifts of cash
