Henry V
Once more unto the breach! Lantern Theater Company Announces Extension through Apr. 21 for Henry V starring Ben Dibble – Six Performances Added

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 3, 2013

Lantern Theater Company's critically acclaimed production of William Shakespeare's Henry V will be extended an additional week through Sunday, April 21 to accommodate audience demand, the fourth consecutive production of the season to be extended. Henry V was hailed as "an intimate epic" by The Huffington Post, which also declared actor Ben Dibble as "an astonishing, heroic and earthy Henry V framed by a production that would be celebrated anywhere in the world." Philadelphia's Broad Street Review heralded the production as "first-rate Shakespeare" and Philadelphia City Paper praised the "beautifully dark...and elegantly stark" design by Meghan Jones and Drew Billiau. The following performances have been added:

Wednesday, Apr. 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, Apr. 18 at 7:00 p.m.
Friday, Apr. 19 at 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, Apr. 20 at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, Apr. 20 at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, Apr. 21 at 2:00 p.m.

With Henry V, "the city's top presenter of Shakespeare's work" (TheaterMania.com) brings to the stage an epic journey through royal courts and battlefields, conjuring a vast world through the suggestive power of the Bard's incomparable language. Following a bloody civil war, charismatic young Henry, England's new king, sets out to repair his fractured nation with a common purpose: war with France. But unprepared and outnumbered, Henry's small army of bumbling country rubes and petty thieves seem to be no match for the slick French war machine. While Henry sets out to secure his crown and reputation, he finds humility, true leadership, and the power to inspire a nation. From rousing speeches to the dark eve of Agincourt, Henry V is both adventurous and introspective, a tale of raw power punctuated by surprising moments of comedy.

Directed by Lantern Artistic Director Charles McMahon and starring Ben Dibble in the title role, the production also stars Krista Apple-Hodge as Chorus/Ensemble, David Bardeen as Canterbury/Ensemble, Jake Blouch as Dauphin/Pistol/Ensemble, Mark Cairns as Exeter/Williams/Ensemble, K.O. DelMarcelle as Katherine/Ensemble, Matt Tallman as Bedford/Nym/Orleans/Ensemble, and Mal Whyte as Fluellen/Ensemble.

Tickets are $30-$36 and are available online at lanterntheater.org or by calling (215) 829-0395. Discounts are available for students, seniors, and groups of 10 or more. Lantern Theater Company is located at St. Stephen's Theater, 10th & Ludlow Streets in Center City Philadelphia.
