STAGE TO SCREEN: THE PIANO LESSON

Saturday, June 14, 2025 • 7PM to 9PM

The Lantern will present Stage to Screen: The Piano Lesson at Allens Lane Art Center. Our program will feature selections from both the theatrical and film versions of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson as well as a conversation about the themes of the play. This program will be directed by Philadelphia theater artist Zuhairah McGill and will feature local actors Phillip Brown, Sterling Calhoun, Kash Goins, Morgan Charéce Hall, and Ron Lee Jones.

For Stage to Screen, the Lantern will partner with Stephanye Watts of the Be Reel Black Cinema Club and Allens Lane Art Center, a well-established neighborhood arts center providing art classes and summer camp, theatrical productions, and community events.
