Did you know that many companies match charitable contributions made by their employees, retirees, and board members? Please ask your human resources or corporate giving office about your company's matching gift policy!
IRA Charitable Giving
The IRA Charitable Rollover provision allows individuals who have reached age 70 1/2 to donate up to $100,000 per year to charitable organizations directly from their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA), without treating the distribution as taxable income. These transfers to charities are known as qualified charitable distributions or QCDs. Individuals over the age of 72 may count their QCDs as part of their required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year. For a married couple, if both spouses are age 70 1/2 or over and both have IRAs, each spouse can exclude up to $100,000 for a total of up to $200,000 per year. Learn more here.
Please consider Lantern Theater Company in your estate planning. Your support will ensure the future of the Lantern's mission to create innovative and stimulating theatrical experiences and to advance theater as a means of educating and inspiring the region's children. Please contact Stacy Maria Dutton, Executive Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 215.829.9002 x101 to discuss your plans.
