Founded in 1994 by Charles McMahon and Michael Brophy, Lantern Theater Company has produced over 100 plays by a wide range of contemporary and celebrated classic playwrights, including William Shakespeare, Anton Chekhov, Molière, Henrik Ibsen, Tom Stoppard, Athol Fugard, David Ives, and Martin McDonagh. Through our New Works Initiative, we are also dedicated to developing and producing new plays, often new interpretations of classic literature. Recent world premieres include Oscar Wilde: From the Depths, an adaptation of Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales, and our upcoming production of The Craftsman by Bruce Graham.
